About Anambas

Not many local travelers might know Anambas. However, Anambas is already popular among foreign tourists. Where is exactly Anambas? Anambas is islands that are administratively located in Riau Islands Province. The Islands are located in the South China Sea and are the borders of Indonesia and neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and Cambodia.

Anambas Islands, center of Asean 600 million community is a new regency of Riau Islands Province, located 150 nautical miles northeast of Batam and Bintan Island. Anambas has all tropical island beauties, blue warm sea with its coral reef and fishes, palm trees out spread on the beauty of white sand, sun, serenity and many others. 

Anambas beauty seems to make the traveller's eyes unblinking. Just imagine, there are as many as 238 islands  and they are mostly uninhabited and 98.73 per cent of the island is the open sea. One of the most popular island of Anambas is Pulau Bawah (Bawah Island). 

Anambas just like some other exotic spots in Indonesia can easily be reach, by air and sea. From Batam or Bintan Island via air or from Tanjung Pinang by ferry boat. The flight journey by air about 1 hour to reach Matak Airport of Anambas Islands and by boat it take 9 hours journey from Bintan Island.
